[Riku sounds surprised, but also excited. What has he found?]

You've got to come see this. Deck 12--around the left side of the luggage.

[Riku's on the luggage deck, off to one side sitting on the floor. Scattered around him is an entire collection of interesting things, including a bunch of Disney movies--but what -Riku's- looking at is a game. Yeah, he's holding Kingdom Hearts I and II, and is staring at them both. There's a PlayStation 2 nearby, and you can bet he's planning on figuring out how to play these things.

What in the -worlds- has he found here?]

[Well, that's good, because it means he won't notice the way Riku's expression sets in a scowl. Sorry, but the last time he saw Sora, Sora was telling him that he had no conscience. He's not exactly thrilled to see him again.

Still, he won't just stand there and say nothing, especially considering he can't just portal away. So he folds his arms, his most disparaging look coming to his face.]

Happy to find your old friends again?

[Here is the creepiest dude in the history of failure at your service.]

Th-the master would n-not approve of such d-d-distractions.

[Movies are getting dropped, and he's turning around rather fastish now--he knows that voice. He hasn't seen you in a couple of weeks now--not since he wound up on a creepy train after going through the Door to Light.

This surprise, it's a good kind of surprise.] Riku!?

[He sounds a bit older than the Sora you last saw. Looks it too, with slightly tamer hair. And when he gets up from his spot on the floor, it's clear he had a pretty good growth spurt, since he's probably a good three inches taller than you.] Here you are! I was wondering where you went!

[Y'know, those clothes of his should look familiar--like the ones he's wearing on the cover of that Kingdom Hearts II game.]

[You know what, odd-person-that-looks-just-like-him? You're also getting this icon. Because. What?]

And who're you supposed to be?

[Funny, you look like the Real Thing he remembers, but not knowing who he is? ... okay, he's seen weirder.] Your clone.

[And judging by the age...] From the future.

[This could be interesting.]

[Good, Sora's let him go. Riku immediately takes a jump backward, putting a good distance between them. He doesn't sound too happy, yes, but you can see on his -face- that he's not too happy, either.]

Pretty bold move, Sora. What are you doing here?

[They -are- familiar, and Riku immediately knows he's talking to an older Sora. Still, his expression doesn't change, and he doesn't make to move any closer to Sora. -Especially- considering that Sora's -taller- than he is. That's not cool, Sora. Not at all.

But he smirks. This is something familiar--and this time, he's got a leg up on Sora.]

That's right. While you've been off gallivanting the worlds, I've been here.

[With Kairi. But he won't drop that bomb just yet.]

[Sora flops back onto his haunches, hands behind him on the floor. He'd been eyeballing the games left on the floor, until Riku spoke. Geez, was he always this angry, before? When was he... er, from?]

I dunno. Same reason you're here I guess. [He shrugs] I saw you and came to say hi! And here all I get is some snark. [He smirks] How typical of Riku.

[what the what the i don't even]

Who cares if he does or doesn't?

Y-you should n-not upset the master.

[Instant frown/pout on his end, and crossing his arms over his chest.] That's not true! We were going through the Door to Light together to head home! Kairi was waiting for us!

[Wait. Wait he's looking down at you. And with the way you're talking... his expression just falls. You haven't been like this since... oh no.] Riku... when was the last time you saw me?

[He comes shambling into the deck. You found some games and Pyramid Head found you. You may want to start running now. ]

[For a moment, Riku's surprised--but hey, by this point, he'll at least -listen- to anything. The thing about the future doesn't shake him a bit, though; Kairi's from his future as well.]

My clone? Why would I have a clone?

Hmm. Is that so?

[He doesn't seem like he believes you, Sora. After all, the last time the two of you were together you told him that he was on the wrong side and no longer had a conscience. And you just "came to say hi"? Right.]

What about your other friends?

[Sora cants his head a little, shrugging his shoulders.]

Back home, I guess?

[Oh Riku. He is sorry for that, but the truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it? Darkness isn't really a good side to be on.]

Well... Hmmm.

[She hesitates. Wait, this couldn't be a real, truthful video game about their lives, could it? No, that's silly. Why would something like that exist? ]

No! C'mon.

[Taking the game labeled '1,' and with a little bit of fiddling, Kairi manages to fire up the machine and get it started. Ooooh, start-up menu with pretty music. Kairi hands the control over to Riku.]

You first.

Because this idiot of a scientist without a Heart didn't get the memo that the universe doesn't need more than one of you. [Well, it's odd hearing that snark sent right back at you, isn't it? It's even accompanied by a very familiar smirk.]

You don't remember? [It's obvious that this is a Sora from the future, but Riku figures he'll still remember Monstro. Everything from that time is coming back--the sting of his words a memory that Riku is working hard to tamp back down--and it's hard to keep his smirk in place.]

You valued a puppet over Kairi.

[This is so surreal. And yet, Riku can't help but laugh as he accepts the controller from Kairi, dragging a small pile of luggage closer for the both of them to lean against first.]

All right, all right.

[He fiddles for only a moment before figuring out that X is accept, and from there it's only a short trip to starting the game proper. As the intro plays, Riku sets the controller down, watching. Hey, look, it's him! And now it's Kairi! And it is -so weird- to see themselves on the screen.]

Is this as weird for you as it is for me?

[Kairi is doing her level best not to laugh; but when Riku asks, she completely loses control to a fit of giggles. The catchy music and the visual of Riku standing in the surf just waiting for a wave to break over him are too funny.

Kairi nods through her laughter. The intro winds down.]

Oh look! We're Sora.

[She reaches over and toggles one of the controls, but achieves nothing.]

Why are we Sora? Can't we choose?

...Monstro. [Yeah, he remembers that. He remembers calling you out on how crazy you were acting then. That's not the worst of it--almost-bro, you did some stupid stuff because you thought you had lost him as a friend.

Looks like you still have a while to go, before you realize that you're wrong.] You're still being stupid, you know. You and Kairi are my best friends; why do you think I was going to those other worlds in the first place?

[Dummy. But given how you're throwing everything away that ties you to the Light right now, you probably won't listen to him. ... you probably need your older self to smack some sense into you. Or canon has to happen for you to get your wake-up call.

... or you can play those games he didn't notice and see for yourself. Someone had to help, because no one else was.]

'Cause I'm the best, obviously.

[SUDDENLY A SORA.]

[Riku can't help but laugh too; what about you, Kairi? Your part is just as ridiculous--this entire intro is hilarious.

Kairi hits what Riku assumes to be the right analog stick, and he shakes his head.]

It's this one, I think. See? It says the left analog...

[He pushes forward on the left analog stick and the Sora onscreen moves forward. Riku laughs, shaking his head.]

I don't know, I don't think we get to choose. [Still, he tries all the buttons on the controller. None work.]

AND THEN THERE'S A SORA WHAT THE CRAP ARE YOU DOING SORA, INTRUDING ON HIS AND KAIRI'S GAME-PLAY TIME. He would throw something at you if he were that sort of person. Though the look of aggravation that passes over his face in a blink might be enough to tell you. Jeez Sora.

But Riku doesn't answer him; instead, he looks over at Kairi surreptitiously, speaking in a stage whisper.]

Apparently playing this game has the power to summon Sora.

[Yeah, you know what? No. He hates how Sora is so flippant, how he doesn't even care.]

I would have thought you'd do the same, then.
