[At first, Riku wasn't going to say anything. But being that he is, in fact, an arrogant awesome brat, he can't resist. So when he speaks, you can hear the smirk in his voice.]

Hey. Nice job yesterday, guys. That was a pretty good game.

[And he's even being sincere! How about that.



Riku's a bit bruised up from his bout with Pamela; you won't be able to see the long bruise on his side from where she hit him, but the two dark stripes on his neck from her broom are readily visible, and Riku's not making any attempts to hide them at all. These are his battle scars, his badge of honor; they're something that tells the world that he is one badass kid. Or something, who even really knows.

Riku won't be taking a break though; the game might be over but he's still on the move. You'll be able to find him all over the ship today--he'll be in the forest on deck 3 first, just wandering the forest a bit, then he'll be on deck 12 looking through the luggage for anything that might be helpful in building a tree-house. (Hey, maybe next it'll be a little boat they can sail around the caverns! That might be fun...) He'll be checking out the statue on deck 18 (cautiously, though, things aren't always what they seem), wandering around the flower-field to see if there's actually anything interesting (hey, graves? Hmmm...), and of course hitting up the Coffee Shop for breakfast and later on The Cool and Kuma-Ko for lunch and dinner.

Feel free to run into him anywhere; winning capture the flag has put him in a pretty good mood!]

*Marco is also examining the statue on deck 18 when Riku gets there. Though by 'examining' I mean 'sitting before it and staring at it while smoking a cigarette.'*

[Riku hadn't really expected to find anybody else on deck 18--the lack of anything too interesting would usually mean that it would be fairly abandoned.

Oh, well, it's not like he really minds. Riku will stand there for a moment, then interrupt the silence with that smirk of his.]

Thinking hard? Don't hurt yourself.

*Marco chuckles a bit*

Don't worry, I'm not thinking very hard.

[...he recognizes that voice. He'll give no indication of having recognized the man on the outside, but -inside,- Riku's a little irked. This is the guy who went all "I KNOW MORE THAN YOU DO" on the comms--and while Riku will admit his mistake, he didn't appreciate it being called out as it was. So he's going to head for the statue, though he's not going to outright ignore Marco, either.]

Kind of a strange place to sit around thinking.

*Marco does that a lot, only he usually doesn't do it where anyone can see it.
He shrugs a bit and gestures towards the statue with his cigarette*

This thing caused me a lot of trouble a ways back. I'd like to figure it out, but its not easy.

*If Marco recognizes Riku's voice as 'that kid I schooled' he doesn't show it*

[Riku steps up close to the statue, once again noting the sign nearby. He stares hard into the demon's eyes, even as he's answering Marco.]

Oh, really? How'd it do that?

Long story. *There's an air of 'that I'm not going to talk about' there.* But it caused some issues while Jennifer was out. Not sure why its still here now that she's recaged...but at least the rats are tame again.

[Oh hey Riku, prowling deck 12 for things, huh? Well, you could ask a resident of this deck for help. Who was conviently curled up inside a bed of coats outside of her room, with only her ears poking out from underneath the 'blanket' and the soft noise of her sleeping.]

Hmn...

Jennifer?

[Riku turns from the statue, leaning back against it and folding his arms as he looks at Marco.]

I've heard the name, but nobody seems to want to talk about her. What happened?

*Marco raises an eyebrow and turns his attention to Riku*

Really? Seems a lot of people haven't been given the story about her.

*He considers wording for a moment before speaking*

Out of nowhere, everyone started hearing a voice calling for help. At first, it was the same volume over the entire ship, but after a few people checked out the theater it became obvious that was the source. After a riddle and some running around the girl who was crying for help was set free.

*He hmphs. Marco still feels a mix of guilt and extreme anger about Jenjen getting freed*

Only it turned out freeing her wasn't the best of ideas, since she managed to kill most of us. Then she turned the ship into her own personal hell hole. That lasted about a month, I guess, before we managed to get a plan to recage her in Carnival and go through with it. Once she was trapped, most things returned to normal. But not everything *He gestures to the statue again*

[Riku stops rummaging through the suitcase he's just opened up at the sound, peering over to see the Mithra's ears. He makes his way over to the pile of coats, tugging the top one back just enough that he can see her face. Catpaw? What are you doing sleeping in coats? But he's not going to wake her--he'll just go back to searching through the case, albeit a bit more quietly. Plenty of time for questions later.]

[As Riku listens to Marco, he's not sure what to think. His first thought it to wonder how Kairi was through all of that, but he doesn't let it rule his thoughts for long. After all, Kairi would have mentioned that to him, right?]

So she's a prisoner again. How do you know someone else won't release her?

[That's not the only question he has, but it's a good place to start.]

[There's a groan from the Mithra from the sudden light source creeping over her eyelids, but once the white haired one puts it back, that causes her to stir a little.]

Who's... there?

[Was it one of the crew members who were passing by or someone else?

She was starting to sit up, squinting a little before rubbing at her eyes with a gloved hand. She had such a bed head right now.]

We don't.
But as far as anyone knows nothing's gotten out of Carnival before, so it was the best option of where to stick her since she couldn't be killed.

[Whoops. Woke her up. -That- wasn't intentional. When Riku speaks, his voice is--strangely enough--not all smug and arrogance like he normally is; he might sound a little bored, but that's him trying to be nicer than usual. Maybe because he woke you up.]

It's just me. ...you don't have to get up. Go back to sleep.

[Riku gives a non-committal "hnnh," turning to look back to the statue.]

And this is one of those things that didn't go back to normal?

Yep. Doesn't seem to be that dangerous now, though...when Jennifer was out the rats were violent and tried to protect it, now they don't seem to care. No idea what happens if you do or don't feed it, though.

[Once she was finishing rubbing her eyes free to sleep, she blinked at Riku.]

No, its okay... I was bound to be up again anyway.

[She waved her hand a little, but still looked very tired.]

What are you looking for?

[Examining that face again, particularly the mouth of the statue. He has no idea how in the worlds they -feed- the thing (it seems like bread would just sit in there and mold!), but whatever. He's seen stranger things. As he speaks, his voice takes on that sort of challenging tone he sometimes uses.]

...might be kind of interesting to find out.

It might be, yeah, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I think the crew's supposed to feed it or something...not sure how one would stop them from doing so if they do.

Someone mentioned smashing it once, but I guess they never did.

Hmm. Guess not.

[He'll just have to keep an eye on it, he supposes. In the meantime, there's another topic he wants to breach--Kairi hadn't wanted to talk about it when it had come up, and this man seems like he'd definitely know about it.]

So I heard there was a video that had been given to all the passengers. Did you get a copy of that, too?

*Marco frowns and his voice grows serious and somber*

You don't want to watch that.

[Riku'll meet his eyes, his own voice growing similarly serious.]

I want to see it.

Do you even have an idea of what's on it? Or do you just want to see it because you've heard its out there?

I know how bad it is. But if you won't show it to me, I'll have to ask Kairi.

[Pause.]
